A Brighter Future
We are thrilled to announce that Baines’ River Camp is taking a giant leap towards sustainability by installing a state-of-the-art solar power system. This environmentally friendly initiative not only reduces our carbon footprint but also ensures that our guests enjoy uninterrupted power supply while soaking up the beauty of the Zambezi River. It’s our commitment to responsible tourism, and we’re excited to share this journey with you. The system will be operational in time for the opening of the new season on 01 March 2024.

In-House Training with a Food Consultant
Food is an integral part of your Baines’ River Camp experience. To elevate our culinary offerings, we have partnered with renowned food consultant, Rainer Iding, who is currently working on-site with our kitchen team. Together, they are crafting an entirely new menu, featuring dishes that celebrate the flavours of our region, all sourced locally.

Secret Season Specials
Exclusive Offers Await
November is a beautiful time to visit the Lower Zambezi. Are you wondering why? Lower river levels means Zambezi Island sundowners, canoeing adventures and the thrill of reeling in a trophy tiger fish. Dramatic sunsets, migrant birds and the start of the breeding for wildlife populations! November on our Rates sheet offers our Low Season Long Stay Special of USD1480-00 for three nights on a fully inclusive basis.
“The Lodge is Fabulous”
We saw abundant wildlife and caught plenty of hard fighting tigers including 27 over ten pounds with the best a lovely fish of 16.08. Modesty prevents me from naming the lucky captor of this ‘fish of the week’!
Some big vundu were also lost and landed.
The lodge is fabulous, the service brilliant, the food outstanding and the staff and guides are both knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. I couldn’t believe how flexible they were at accommodating requests for guest activities at very short notice. We also loved the fact that we were ensconced amongst the wildlife and not locked away in some sterile compound. I can’t envisage wanting to stay anywhere else on the Lower Zambezi.d
