Looking for a safari that brings people together? Baines’ River Camp on the Lower Zambezi offers the ideal setting for group travel in Zambia. With tailored experiences, warm hospitality, and access to one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas, this is a destination where memories are made and shared.

Why Baines’ is Ideal for Families and Groups
Our camp is designed to balance exclusivity with togetherness. With space for just 20 guests, you can book a portion of the camp or even arrange a full camp booking for complete privacy. Each suite is spacious and stylish, with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and private verandas overlooking the Zambezi River.
Family-friendly activities make it easy to unwind and reconnect, no matter whether you’re travelling with children, teenagers, parents or friends.

Family-Friendly Safari Activities
Planning a safari with children or teens? At Baines’, we know how to tailor the experience. All of our activities are guided by expert naturalists who love sharing their knowledge with all ages.
One family recently enjoyed three exhilarating drives into the national park, guided by Jimmy and Gibs. Their children delighted in learning about tracking, spotting birds through binoculars, and the thrill of getting up close to wild dogs and a leopard on their final day. Each outing was personalised, with the guides doing everything they could to help them spot the species on their wish list.

Group Safari Experiences to Share
Travelling with a group of friends or extended family? Our guides can customise:
- Walking safaris and canoeing for the adventurous
- Wildlife photography drives for the shutterbugs
- Laid-back boat cruises with sundowners and snacks
- Tiger fishing expeditions with just the right amount of friendly competition
- Incredible birdwatching for the avid twitchers.
Evenings are all about connection … bush dinners under the stars, storytelling around the firepit, and shared highlights from the day’s sightings.
In one recent stay, a couple travelled with close friends and spent their days split between game drives and the river. While some guests enjoyed fishing at dawn, others opted for morning photography drives or scenic coffee boat cruises. Every night, they regrouped around the fire, sharing sightings and laughs over three-course meals.

Designed for Connection and Comfort
Every detail at Baines’ is geared towards comfort and connection. With dedicated hosts, and seamless logistics, you can focus on what matters most: spending time together.
One guest, Graeme, wrote: “The service at Baines’ River Camp was second to none. A personal service that made us feel special … From the moment we arrived we were given activities and it didn’t stop until we left.”
Because our lodge is located in a malaria-controlled zone, it’s also a practical option for families with younger children.

Make your Safari Personal
At Baines’, your safari is shaped around you. Whether you want quiet mornings with coffee on your deck or action-packed game drives from sunrise to sunset, we’ll help you design your ideal itinerary.
Another couple who joined us for a three-night stay described the speedboat transfers to the national park each morning as a highlight in itself. Passing hippos and crocodiles with the cool morning air rushing past was, in their words, “exhilarating.” On their final day, they saw elephants on the banks during the return trip, a fitting end to an unforgettable journey.
A safari at Baines’ is more than a holiday. It’s a shared adventure you’ll remember forever.
