“Absolutely loved our 4 nights at Baines’ River Camp.
The chalets were delightful with a wonderful, traditional decor and the ultimate in comfort. Importantly for us, the beds were luxe and the bathroom/shower area huge.
The highlight for us however was catching not one, but 4 tiger fish. This was our third visit to the Lower Zambezi and all previous fishing attempts proved absolutely fruitless. We put the success on this occasion entirely down to the guide Moses. His tuition was solely responsible for the outstanding results. Moses also makes a great team guiding on the land with Luke.

Gibres has been fishing since 2015 and joined Baines’ River Camp in 2023. His experience and passion for the waters of the Zambezi have grown over the years, and he boasts an impressive personal best catch of a 19-pound tiger fish. Gibres is dedicated to offering guests memorable fishing experiences in the heart of the Lower Zambezi.
Moses has been fishing since 2005 and has been with Baines’ River Camp since 2000, making him one of the most experienced members of the team. Known for his incredible skills on the water, Moses holds the camp record for the largest fish caught, an impressive 22-pound tiger fish, which continues to inspire guests and fellow guides alike.
Luke began his guiding career in 1997 and has been with Baines’ River Camp since 2005. With over two decades of experience, Luke is both a safari and fishing guide, offering guests an in-depth understanding of the Zambezi River and its wildlife. His largest tiger fish to date weighs 21 pounds, a testament to his expertise and dedication.
Jimmy has been guiding fishing and safari excursions since 2018 and started at Baines’ River Camp in 2023. His easy-going nature and passion for the Zambezi River make him a favourite among guests. His personal best catch is a 19-pound fish, and he’s eager to help guests land their own impressive catches.
Peter began fishing in 2018 and joined Baines’ River Camp in 2024. His knowledge of the river is growing quickly, and he is always excited to assist guests in achieving successful fishing trips. Peter’s biggest fish to date is an 18-pound tiger fish, and he’s continually sharpening his skills to help visitors enjoy their time on the water.
Rafael started fishing in 2010 and then joined Baines’ River Camp in 2015. With a deep love for the river and a calm, patient approach, Rafael’s biggest catch is an 19-pound tiger fish. He enjoys sharing his passion for fishing with guests, making their experiences on the Zambezi both fun and successful.
