Day 1 – 4​

Musekese Camp, Kafue National Park

Welcome to Zambia! Arrive at Lusaka International Airport.
Catch a charter flight to Lufupa airstrip in Kafue National Park, one of Africa’s largest and least-explored gems.
Arrive at Musekese Camp, an owner run camp in a wild and remote section of the park.

Day 4 – 7

Flatdogs Camp, South Luangwa National Park

Today you will say goodbye to the team at Musekese and begin your journey to the South Luangwa National Park. A charter flight will have you at Lusaka International Airport where you will connect on Proflight to Mfuwe International Airport.

A short road transfer will have you at the renowned Flatdogs Camp, an owner run camp offering the ideal blend of comfort and wilderness. Embark on game drives in the South Luangwa National Park, renowned for its high concentration of wildlife. Encounter leopards, elephants, buffalo, and a myriad of bird species in their natural habitats.

Day 7 – 10

Chikoko Trails, South Luangwa National Park

Today you will depart Flatdogs for the start of your walking safari with Remote Africa Safaris. A two hour road transfer will have you at the river where you will cross by canoe with luggage, and begin your walk to Chikoko Tree Camp.

Activities on offer at Chikoko Trails

The Chikoko Walking adventure combines two remote camps in an area of the South Luangwa National Park inaccessible to vehicles. You will spend two nights at Chikoko Tree Camp and 1 night at Big Lagoon (or visa versa).

Your days will be spent discovering this unique habitat, from the fascinating insects that live within animal droppings, tiny elephant shrews, curious hyena, the endemic Thornicroft’s giraffe, enormous elephant and huge herds of buffalo with prides of lion in tow. Predators become the prey as you track lions’ prints from the night before to their resting place of that day.

Day 10 – 13

Baines’ River Camp, Lower Zambezi National Park

After six unforgettable nights in the Luangwa Valley, it’s time to say goodbye to the team at Remote Africa Safaris. You will be transferred in a light aircraft to your next destination, the Lower Zambezi Valley. This is an incredibly scenic flight as your pilot takes you over the escarpment and winds down into this magnificent valley. Upon landing, you will be met by your safari guide and transferred by open game viewer to Baines’ River Camp.
