CONSERVATION
Baines'
River Camp management and staff are dedicated conservationists.
We
work closely with the Zambian Wildlife Authority to preserve
the natural heritage of the region. In some emergencies
where elephant have been injured we have air-lifted vets
into the Lower Zambezi Valley and supplied them with transport,
equipment and staff to attend to the animals.
We
use best practice in our camp management at all times and
contribute to the local conservation bodies to help with
their animal protection projects. (CLZ - see below)
Here
are some very graphic images showing the kind of team work
in saving an elephant's leg that had been caught in a poachers
snare. This was a Baines' River Camp initiative.
