Shareholder and managing director of Baines’ River Camp, Tim Featherby, is a founder and the current Chairman of the Lower Zambezi Conservation Trust, which forms the management framework for the Chiawa Partnership Park. The Trust’s board include representatives of the Chiawa community, the safari operators, the Chief and the Zambia Wildlife Authority.

Baines’ River Camp is a corporate member of Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) , a Non-Governmental Organisation with its headquarters in the Chiawa Game Management Area, just 10 km east of the camp. CLZ assists the Zambia Wildlife Authority in its efforts to conserve the Lower Zambezi National Park and surrounding Game Management Areas by offering environmental education to local communities and to school children from all over Zambia and by providing logistical assistance to the Zambia Willdife Authority in terms of the deployment and re-supply of scouts on law enforcement patrols, wildlife rescue operations and aerial surveys.

This organisation has its headquarters in San Fransisco, which city hosts their annual fundraising auction, The WildAid Gala. Baines’ River Camp proudly donates a 3-night package for 2 to be auctioned at this annual gala fund-raising event.

| Baines’ River Camp is a corporate member of ZOS, which was formed in 1969 to stimulate interest in, study and conserve Zambia’s abundant birdlife. The society engages in extensive research and monitoring activities, the results of which are published both locally and internationally. For its members, ZOS organises frequent walks and field outings to discover Zambia’s rich diversity of birdlife.
